Our client was not receiving the Limited Capability for Work Related Activity (LCWRA) element in their joint Universal Credit claim, despite receiving Personal Independence Payment and being state pension age, and so the LCWRA element should have been automatic. Our adviser liaised with the local DWP Partnership Manager to rectify this and the LCWRA element was added to the claim, higher rate, and the client and their spouse received a backdated payment of £929.36.
